Your wedding invitation is the centerpiece of your wedding package. The design, ink color and typestyle that you choose will reflect the tone of your wedding. Be sure to include the time, date and location of the event. Most often a return address is printed on the back flap of the envelopes, and the envelopes are lined to enhance the overall look of your wedding invitations.

For a more formal wedding, double envelopes may be ordered. Double envelopes protect the invitations from any damage that may occur in mailing. The invitation is inserted into an envelope and then inserted into another envelope. The inner envelopes are most often lined and the outer envelopes are most often printed.

Reply cards
Reply cards are a simple way for your guests to respond to their invitation and for you to know how many guests will be attending. They are enclosed with your invitation and returned by the date indicated on the card - usually three weeks before the wedding. Enclosed with the reply card should be a stamped envelope that is printed with the address of the person to whom the replies should be sent. Reply card envelopes are most often ordered unlined.
Reception cards
Reception cards are used to inform guests of the location of your wedding reception. However, including the reception information on the bottom of your invitation is acceptable if all of your guests are invited to the ceremony and the reception. Reception cards are enclosed with your invitation and envelopes are not needed.
Thank you notes
These foldover notes have the newly married couple's name or monogram printed on the front. Proper etiquette states that you should send thank you notes within three weeks of your wedding or receiving a gift. The return address used should be your residence after the wedding.
Place cards
Place cards are used to help guests locate their seat at the table. They are either blank or may have the bride and groom's names printed at the top. A guest's name is written legibly in black ink large enough to read easily from a reasonable distance. Envelopes are not needed.
